The experience with them is so wonderful! Because of the works (na sabi ko boring but end up interesting), we get to know each other and we gain lots of experience. Ma'am taught us how to be confident. And because of her ways of teaching us, it made us feel the true meaning of this course. Her unique ways gave me inspiration and it helps me realize na hindi pala boring to!

well, i admire ma'am for everything. The way she teaches us, the way she talks to us as if were just like friends. I admire her for being a "master" in this course. I remember, Ruby and I were talking about Ma'am. (hehe). We both have the same idea, that Ma'am has the potential of being a writer,. haha (knina lng to, sa Chem Lab nmen) hehe.

At first, we're not that close, pero ayon, close na! haha.

sobrang saya. especially because of the play! sobrang bonding with them. i never imagine na mging close kmi ng gnito. at first, i was thinking that i will pass this course without even knowing all of them, but then, i was wrong, cause this term will never be complete without them. During the time when we are in Sean's house is the best! Sobrang warm ung pagwelcome ng mommy nia! feel at home kmi! hahha. and the food? the best! yummy! we had so much fun doing the props and rehearsing! even if there's so much things to do, we never feel tired. we enjoyed the moments together.

LAUGHTER

by: Maningning Miclat

..an ironic poem..

A poem for those who are bitter and in painful experience yet try to hide their true feelings. A story of a girl being left behind by his lover and she tries everything just to make him stay. She used laughter to cover up the pain she is feeling.

Boys don't know how to say goodbye. The guy in this poem begged her not to make memories for this will not make it easier for the two of them when they go apart.

She wants every reader to relate with her. She wants them to know and feel what she is feeling. And she thinks that through poems, she can deliver what she wants everyone to feel.

At first, she is very happy having him beside her. She gets her strength from the guy. But it is so true that nothing really last forever. Today he is madly in love with you yet tomorrow, you don't own him anymore.

The girl maybe has problem, and one way she could surpass it, is to get strength from the guy for she knew that having him will ease all the pain.

The girl cannot get his attention. She cannot use laughter anymore to get him back.

The angry boy left her. It shows that he doesn't love her anymore and that the girl cannot do anything about it.

The boy never understand her. He never understand what she is feeling. He never knew what keeps her alive and strong.

Boys are so insensitive! They never know what you feel unless you tell them so. This poem wants to tell everyone that laughter does not only show happiness for it could also mean pain and tears.

Laugter can be a mask that hides someone from what she/he is feeling.

SERVANT GIRL by Estrella Alfon

I was touched by this story. A story that shows how servants are treated by their masters.
A story of ordinary people whose dream is to have a wonderful life, to be free, to do what she really wants to do, and to escape from her mistress. A story of a poor girl who believe in something but failed her in the end.

Rosa did not experience the things that her neighbors are experiencing. She wants to get involve in the conversations of other women but she is limited in their washroom. this just show how lonely her life is. I, myself, don't want to be trapped in a place where i don't want to stay. i want to be with the people i love, and i want to experience everything. but that is not the real life. everyone has limitations and sad to know, Rosa is one of those unfortunate people who cannot do anything she wants.

Rosa is longing for happiness. She wants to experience how to love and to be loved. And when she met her "Angel" (Pedro), she knew that her Angel would save her. She never stop believing that he will be back to save her, that her "Angel" will remember her, and he will be the savior of Rosa. Everyone wants to meet their "Angel" . Everyone wants to experience a problem-free life.

Angel gave Rosa an inspiration. He's the reason why she can survive despite the things that her mistress is doing to her. Angel became her strength.

I was so sad, knowing that after all the things that Rosa did just to see him, it will be just a useless thing for in the end, though she met Angel again, it is he who bring Rosa back to her unlucky life. It is so sad to know the fact that no matter what you do, as long as it is not meant for you, it will never happen, and you will never get what you want.

But, what happened to Rosa made her realize that she will never escape her life, that her "Angel" is just an imaginary hero, that no one will save her but herself.

It is not wrong to believe in something, but we should know our limitations. We should not forget what reality is. We should not focus on what we want but also on what we really need.

writers: our inspirations

Jessica Zafra

This is Jessica Zafra. She is once a drop-out student. But still, she managed to go back to school. She took a major in Comparative Literature at the University of the Philippines. She may have been ashamed for being a drop-out student at the start but look at how she stepped up. Jessica Zafra is currently a fiction writer, columnist, editor, publisher, and was also once a television and a radio show host. She never thought that she would be this successful. After all, hard work really pays off. She experienced a lot of obstacles as she started her career of being a writer. She had a hard time how to please both the reader and herself. In 1991, she won first place in the Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for “Portents”.In 1996, she was University of the Philippines Creative Writing Center National Fellow. All she focused on was her career, how she would be happy in life and currently that’s what’s happening to her and she is very proud of her experiences whether they are ups or downs. I think all writers should follow her. They should not be ashamed of their pasts. Instead it should be an inspiration and guide for them to do lots of writings and continue to inspire other writers. Jessica Zafra may not be known by many people. But for writers, she is known for her sharp and witty writing style. Her work has been the subject of academic study. She is not afraid of any criticisms she may encounter when she writes something. She defends her work which is the right duty of any writer. They should be proud of their works and face the consequences that they might encounter.
